This full-time faculty position is on-campus and in-person.

The Department of Economics at Texas Christian University invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor beginning August 1, 2025. This is a one-year appointment, with no research expectations, and a 3:2 teaching load for the academic year. Candidates must be able to teach introductory macroeconomics. The ideal candidate would also be able to offer one or more of the following: introductory microeconomics, intermediate macroeconomics, or upper-division courses complementary to current course offerings. Finalists will be expected to meet the hiring team, virtually or in person.
Required qualifications:
• A Ph.D. in economics.
• Ability to teach macroeconomics.
• Experience in undergraduate economics teaching.
Preferred qualifications:
• Ability to teach introductory microeconomics, intermediate macroeconomics, or upper-division courses complementary to current course offerings

The Department of Economics at Texas Christian University emphasizes the teacher-scholar model and the ideals of a liberal arts education. Students are encouraged to explore alternative points of view and to develop the tools necessary for independent analysis of economic arguments. We are part of the AddRan College of Liberal Arts at TCU, and we offer three majors (BA, BS, and BS in International Economics), and we currently have roughly 350 majors.

Named for TCU’s founders, Addison and Randolph Clark, the AddRan College of Liberal Arts is home to the core academic disciplines of the humanities and social sciences. The College includes approximately 155 full-time faculty members, 13 departments (Comparative Race & Ethnic Studies, Criminology & Criminal Justice, Economics, English, Geography, History, Modern Language Studies, Philosophy, Political Science, Religion, Sociology & Anthropology, Spanish and Hispanic Studies, and Women & Gender Studies), and two units of Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (Army and Air Force). AddRan College departments confer 17 Bachelor of Arts and 7 Bachelor of Science degrees, a Bachelor of General Studies, an online master’s degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice, a Master of Liberal Arts degree, and master’s and Ph.D. degrees in History, English, and Rhetoric and Composition.
