RN First Assistant – Operating Room

Our Award-Winning Client , a nationally recognized healthcare leader, is seeking an RN First Assistant (RNFA) – Operating Room to join their surgical team in San Pedro, CA. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a state-of-the-art surgical environment, utilizing the latest advancements in technology and best practices to ensure exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide surgical first assistant, scrub, and circulating nurse services during procedures, ensuring adherence to best practices and hospital protocols.
  • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and the perioperative team to optimize patient outcomes and procedural efficiency.
  • Participate in daily operating room activities, maintaining readiness and supporting team members as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with all state, federal, and accreditation standards related to surgical care and patient safety.
  • Deliver age-appropriate care to a diverse patient population, including infants, adolescents, adults, geriatrics, and pediatrics.
  • Stay current with continuing education and evolving best practices within the perioperative nursing field.
  • Assist in various surgical procedures, including orthopedic, gynecology, robotics, general surgery, plastics, podiatry, bariatrics, urology, and emergency OB/GYN C-sections as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Completion of an RNFA Course.
  • Licensure: Active California Registered Nurse License upon hire.
  • Certification: National Provider BLS (American Heart Association) upon hire.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of recent operating room experience in a clinical setting.

  • Strong ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced surgical environment.
  • Excellent communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working with advanced surgical technologies and procedures.
