Job Description Summary

This is a seasonal position based out of our East Kingston Quarry and the responsibilities include:

• Operating truck in a safe and professional manner in the yard area
• Maintain the inside and outside of the vehicle
• Report any accidents or incidents to supervisor
• Performs pre- and post-trip truck inspections, including fluid levels and greasing and fill out daily vehicle condition report.
• Inform Service Technician and supervisor of any maintenance or repairs needed
• Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times
• Keep log book on load counts and work area Inspection
• Other assigned duties from management, as needed if the truck is not needed

Requirements
The ideal candidate will:

• Demonstrate good performance, safety and attendance
• Demonstrate the ability to work independently, without direct supervision
• Demonstrate a willingness to work overtime and weekends/holidays/nights
• Demonstrates ability to work and communicate well with Supervisors, Truck Drivers, Heavy Equipment Operators and other employees
• Demonstrate the ability to conform to and maintain MSHA, OSHA, DOT and all other company policies or governmental state rules and regulations
• Must have good depth perception and coordination to operate controls
• Must have a valid driver’s license
• Pre-employment screenings required  before being employed by Callanan Indstries, Inc.

Preferences

• Ideal candidate will have some familiarity with aggregate/asphalt operations and quarry haul truck experience

Education/Experience

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Experience with Quarry operations a plus

Salary and Benefits: 

• This position offers a Union rate of $30.67-$31.67 per hour.
