SIE is looking for a skilled and experienced Project Manager to lead roadway design projects with a focus on civil and traffic engineering for public sector clients in the New York City metropolitan area. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in transportation infrastructure, a working knowledge of NYC and NYS agency standards, and demonstrate success managing multidisciplinary design teams and project deliverables. This is a full-time position, reporting to either SIE’s Manhattan or Princeton office five days per week.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage all phases of roadway design projects from concept through construction documentation.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary design teams including civil and traffic engineers
  • Serve as primary liaison with clients
  • Oversee project budgets, schedules, and quality control.
  • Ensure compliance with design standards and specifications.
  • Review and approve technical reports, design plans, and traffic studies.
  • Lead client meetings, public outreach, and stakeholder coordination as needed.
Qualification & Skills: 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
  • 12+ years of experience in roadway and traffic design
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in New York State required
  • Experience working on projects for agencies in the New York City Metro area including but not limited to NYCDDC, PANYNJ, NYCDEP, MTA, NYSDOT, and NYCDOT
  • Demonstrated experience in project delivery including the management of client relationships and project deliverables
  • Ability to manage multiple technical assignments simultaneously to complete assignments to the client's satisfaction while maintaining schedule and budget.
  • Strong technical competence and working relationships with clients
  • Self-starter with the ability to participate collaboratively and also drive outcomes to satisfy client and project requirements
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and MicroStation
  • Excellent communication skills and work ethic
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
Expected salary range is $125,000 - $165,000 annually. Actual compensation will be dependent on the individual’s qualifications, skills, experience, and physical work location.
