Blue Comply is a start-up company dedicated to reducing greenhouse gas emissions by providing innovative methane monitoring solutions to various industries, primarily oil and gas. Our IoT network of wireless sensing devices reports methane emissions early and accurately, allowing O&G operators to save time and money while complying with regulatory requirements. Position Overview:

We are currently seeking to fill the role of Mechanical/Industrial Engineering Intern. This paid opportunity will allow you to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic and fast-paced environment while applying the knowledge you've learned in the classroom. You will work closely with experienced engineers to support a variety of projects, including the design, analysis, and improvement of mechanical and industrial systems, helping to streamline operations and solve real-world engineering problems. As part of a startup, your role will have immediate impact while providing ample opportunity for you to learn and grow professionally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the design and development of mechanical systems or components
  • Collaborate with other engineers to optimize production processes
  • Conduct data analysis and performance evaluations to identify areas for improvement.
  • Support the creation and modification of technical documentation, such as CAD models and reports
  • Perform simulations and support product testing
  • Help identify and implement process improvements to reduce waste and improve efficiency
  • Attend meetings and assist with project management tasks as needed
  • Assemble prototypes, pre-production parts and sub-assemblies

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
  • Strong proficiency in CAD software (e.g., Fusion360, SolidWorks) is preferred
  • Knowledge of basic engineering principles and design processes
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes, systems optimization, and process improvement techniques
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to work with large data sets and conduct root-cause analysis
  • Familiarity with using AI & LLMs in various workflows
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Self-motivated, with a strong desire to learn and develop engineering skills
  • Comfortable with computer-based tasks and hands-on work

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with simulation/scripting software (e.g., MATLAB, Simulink) is a plus
  • Basic knowledge of programming (Python, C++, etc.) is a bonus
