Our innovative solutions address the modern challenges faced by Public Safety, Military, Government, Oil/Gas, and Commercial sectors. We are seeking a skilled Test Technician to join our team and ensure the reliability of our products.

Position Summary: The Test Technician will be responsible for testing, troubleshooting, and validating printed circuit boards (PCBs), and various electronic systems. Experience working at component level troubleshooting, with the ability to analyze individual parts to understand their specific functions and how they interact with other components in designed PCB circuits. This role is crucial to ensure the proper functionality, expedient turnaround, and quality of our products.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with PCB assembly and testing, component level troubleshooting using schematics, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work in a steady-paced, technical environment. In addition, the ideal candidate will have working knowledge with RF test equipment used in radio communications and interoperability systems, including digitizing oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, audio generators, frequency counters, and related diagnostic tools. Experience with testing and maintaining radio communications equipment, as well as IP-based radio interoperability systems, is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot and repair PCBs and circuit boards to component level.
  • Conduct functional tests on electronic products and systems to ensure they meet design specifications.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to diagnose and resolve hardware and system-level issues.
  • Use electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators, and spectrum analyzers.
  • Organize detailed documentation of test results, issues identified, and corrective actions taken.
  • Assist in developing and updating test procedures for new and existing products.
  • Work with engineering and production teams to improve testing processes and product designs.
  • Capable of cross-training within multi-functional teams to enhance workforce flexibility, minimize downtime, and support production efficiency.
  • Maintain equipment and ensure a safe and organized work environment.

Requirements:

  • Technical diploma or degree in electronics, electrical engineering, or related field or extensive work experience in the electronics field.
  • 5+ years of experience troubleshooting PCBs and electronic systems.
  • Strong knowledge of analog and digital electronics, including component-level troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with testing tools such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and other diagnostic equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in industries such as Public Safety, Military, Government, Oil/Gas, or Commercial sectors.
  • Knowledge of RF (Radio Frequency) technologies.
  • Experience with automated testing systems and processes.

Why Join JPS?

  • Opportunity to work on cutting-edge communication systems and products.
  • Be part of a team that supports critical industries with innovative solutions.
  • Competitive salary and benefits package.
