At GDIT, we put our people first. As a Policy Analyst supporting Indian Health Services you will be trusted to work with clinicians, developers, and federal staff to define and document Health IT policies and regulations.
How You will Make an Impact: - Document current state of business workflows, as well as analyzing and designing new workflows, ensuring compliance with Health IT standards, security measures, and interoperability
- Focus on the analysis and updates to policies and procedures to ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, such as 42 CFR Part 2, HIPAA, ONC standards, HITECH, and the Privacy Act of 1974
- Provide input into high-level functional specifications
- Work with team to define metrics and performance goals for relevant IT applications
- Participate in creation of business needs statements and quality management reviews of designs, prototypes, and products to ensure they fulfill the proposed requirements
- Maintain current knowledge of relevant policies and best practices to HHS/IHS
- Work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the development cycle
- Maintain current knowledge of relevant Federal Health IT policies and best practices relevant to the industry
- Participates in special projects as required
- Opportunity to work from home with a geographically dispersed team
- Occasional travel may be required
- Must reside in the U.S.
What You Will Need to Succeed: - This position requires five years of intensive and progressive experience in a policy analysis
- Experience with Health IT, EHR systems, and Meaningful Use
- In-depth knowledge of the application of regulatory compliance with IT applications
- Experience in crafting business needs statements
- Experience in conducting quality management reviews
- Demonstrated ability to explain technical issues clearly/accurately to technical/non-technical audiences
- Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative team with adjusting priorities and deadlines
- Understanding of Agile processes
- Proven ability to work on a remote/distributed team
Preferred Skills: - Experience with the Indian Health Service RPMS and/or Veterans Administration EHR systems
- Experience with Indian Health Service and/or HHS policies
- Knowledge of the VA and IHS environments, RPMS or legacy VISTA
- Working knowledge of Team Foundation Server and/or Azure DevOps
Location: Remote within the USA
Clearance Level: Requires the ability to pass an IHS background check and meet the residency requirement for having resided in the US at least (3) three out of the last (5) five years in order to obtain an appropriate level Public Trust clearance.

Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
