Job Description and Duties

Under the supervision of the Supervising Cook I, the Food Service Technician I assists the cooking staff in the preparation of meals, serving, and cleaning up after meals. The Food Service Technician I prepares food for cooking; cleans and maintains equipment, utensils, and supplies; stores and retrieves food from the warehouse, walk-in freezer, and refrigerator; washes dishes, pots, and pans; cleans the kitchen and dining areas; and performs other duties incidental to food preparation and service. Additionally, may be required to travel to set up and serve refreshments at local California Highway Patrol commands as needed.
