Location : We are seeking an experienced Food Safety Manager (Environmental Health & Safety Manager) for T-Mobile Park , home of the Seattle Mariners!

Since the Inaugural Game on July 15, 1999, T-Mobile Park has gained a reputation locally, regionally and nationally as a terrific setting for baseball and a great place for baseball fans. Sweeping views of Seattle's downtown skyline, breathtaking sunsets over Puget Sound, combined with excellent views of game action from all angles give fans at T-Mobile Park an experience unequalled in Major League Baseball.

Principal Function :

The Food Safety Manager serves as a health and safety subject matter expert at T-Mobile Park. They are responsible for the development, implementation and continuous improvement of Food Safety and Environmental Health and Safety and Training programs and policies.

The Food Safety Manager will lead behavior-based safety initiatives and will provide expertise regarding state and federal regulations and best practices. They will regularly interact with employees throughout the venue, provide leadership to all departments, engage in root cause analysis, coordinate safety training efforts, and will develop proactive approaches to safety to maintain a positive safety record and to achieve unit and company goals and objectives.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Conduct weekly food safety audits
  • Distribute daily safety briefs
  • Conduct and track safe observations
  • Conduct and track safe inspections
  • Coordinate and conduct monthly employee safety meetings
  • Trainings
    • Washington State Food Worker Card
  • Department of Health Management
    • Develop relationships
  • Incident management
    • Insurance/WC claim management
    • Safety Metrics goal attainment
  • Managing third party relationships such as pest control
  • Managing Cleaning Chemical Program
  • Managing Safety and Personal Protection Equipment Program
  • Managing Daily, Monthly and Open/Close Cleaning Procedures
  • Working with corporate and the DOH on obtaining new and renewing existing licenses/certificates
  • Partner with management to ensure the cleanliness of all locations
  • Collaborating with management to develop, prepare, and implement safety and security policies and procedures
  • Coordinating the safety and security programs to promote and ensure a safe working environment
  • Evaluating the effectiveness of safety programs

Qualifications

  • Candidate must be willing to work event based hours - including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Bachelor's degree in Safety & Health, Business Administration, or Public Health Degree Preferred; or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of food safety and/or occupational experience
  • Certified ServSafe manager is preferred or ability to obtain training certification within one month of employment
  • Flexibility to work within a dynamic work environment and a matrix style reporting structure
  • Excellence Communication skills - verbal and written
  • Computer essentials; Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
  • Possesses Strong Coaching, Influencing & Negotiating skills
  • Comfortable in providing training and coaching to management and hourly employees
  • Ability to proactively assess location food and occupational needs, assist in finding solutions to needs in conjunction with operational team
  • Lifting 50 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds
  • This position is an extremely active role requiring movement around a 19 acre facility
  • Extensive knowledge of company safety policies and applicable Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards
  • Previous management/training experience required
  • Previous occupational, food, and/or culinary experience in a high-volume venue or health / regulatory department preferred

Other Requirements :

  • Able to work effectively and safely while subject to wet floors, temperature extremes and excessive noise; must be able to lift up to 50 pounds in weight; must be able to maneuver in an often tightly-quartered environment.

Hours may be extended or irregular to include nights, weekends and holidays.
