Director of Applications

Intl Distribution company is hiring a Director that still enjoys staying hands on.

This position is a Director level position but will also allow you to keep your technical skills up to speed while learning new tools and technology.

Guiding and managing a team of 7 to be more cohesive, in a fast-paced remote environment.

Needs someone with strong technical and leadership skills that likes to lead teams while also critiquing the code and helping the teams to get the Business desired results.

Ability to deal with ambiguity in a fast-paced environment, while still focusing on goals

Will be responsible for delivering the project from the phase of inception to closure

Project / Business request reviews to ensure all know what projects are required and or being requested

Code reviews, so all on the team know how other team members approached their assignments

A project plan with progress updates and ETAs for completion that we can share with business owners

Post project reviews, what went right, what could have been better.

Looking for someone to help establish a remote cohesive team.

Establishing timelines, unit testing, etc.

The successful candidate should possess the ability to analyze business processes, Lead team into to make improvements to the supporting systems and be able to interact with all levels of the organization.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Maintains application design specifications.
Anticipates future application development needs to improve and update the current systems.
Documents requirements for database, applications and system environments.
Demonstrates expertise in a variety of fields, concepts, practices and procedures.
Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
Possess an innovative and creative attitude along with the ability to work independently.
Aggressive problem-solving skills.
Interacts well with end users to test and debug applications to meet the business needs.

Skills and Abilities:

10 Plus years in iSeries/AS400

Distribution applications highly preferred

Lead teams
RPG ILE and RPG free concepts/designs.
Experience with SQL, XML, DEVOPS.
Outstanding communication skills (listening, speaking and writing).
Experience with TURNOVER is a Big plus.
