St. Ambrose University is currently seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Assistant Swim Coach to join our men’s and women’s swimming and diving program. Our athletics program plays a vital role in campus life, fostering teamwork, discipline, and leadership. The Assistant Swim Coach will work under the direction of the Head Coach to assist in all aspects of the university’s swim program. This includes planning practices, recruiting student-athletes, promoting academic achievement, and supporting competitive success at the collegiate level. Responsibilities:
- Assist with daily practices, meet preparation, and competition strategy.
- Provide individual instruction and mentorship to student-athletes.
- Support recruitment efforts by identifying and engaging prospective swimmers.
- Help monitor academic performance and support student-athlete development.
- Ensure adherence to NAIA rules and university policies.
- Maintain equipment and assist with team travel arrangements.
- Contribute to a positive and inclusive team culture. Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Previous competitive swimming and/or coaching experience required.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain.
- Current Lifeguard Certification or willingness to acquire. Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience recruiting at the collegiate level.
- Knowledge of NAIA rules preferred Benefits:
