Restaurant Assistant Kitchen Manager/Line Chef Job Description:

Our Restaurant is looking to hire a new Chef who will be the Assistant Kitchen Manager & Line Chef responsible for preparing fresh, quality dishes for our guests. Duties will include assuring all prep items are ready for service. Assure entire line is set up, ready for service. Cook dinner menu items. Assist in inventory management. Assist in delegating tasks to kitchen staff. Assist in preparing catering. Assure kitchen maintains cleanliness/remains sanitary at all times.

To be successful in this job, the right candidates will be dependable, have a good work ethic and a clean background. You will need thorough experience with hot and cold food preparation. Culinary school education is preferred, but not required. Prior experience in a related position is an advantage. Competitive pay based on experience and consistent work ethic.

Restaurant Chef Responsibilities:

  • Prepare meals for our customers.
  • Be properly prepared for service.
  • Weigh, measure, mix and prep ingredients according to recipes.
  • Steam, grill, boil, bake or fry meats, fish, vegetables, and other ingredient.
  • Check food and ingredients for freshness.
  • Arrange and garnish dishes.
  • Work well under pressure and within the time limit.
  • Ensure that kitchen area, equipment and utensils are cleaned.
  • Help lead and inspire our kitchen staff with the restaurant manager.
  • Wow our guests with amazing dishes.

Restaurant Chef Requirements:

  • A professional, upbeat, team outlook.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Culinary school 2-4 year degree or foreign equivalency preferred.
  • Prior experience in related food and beverage service and food preparation positions.
  • Thorough experience with hot and cold food preparation.
  • Good working knowledge of accepted sanitation standards and health codes.
  • Ability to use slicers, mixers, grinders, food processors, etc.
  • Able to handle work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to lift up to 50lbs
